Psychology is a fascinating, relatable, and consequential field of study that examines the interplay of mental processes (e.g., thinking, feeling, and perceiving) and behavior (e.g., action and decision-making). My approach to teaching psychology involves training students to use the greatest sensemaking toolkit at our disposal – the scientific method. To that end, I teach students how to read scientific literature with a purpose, express themselves clearly in writing, discuss challenging ideas, analyze data, develop hypotheses, and design research studies.
